Warm Greetings to you dear Sheila. I'm so sorry you couldn't comment, but so happy you went to check our sites out. Thank you so much. :) I saw all these comments this morning when I got up and was so bummed that you couldn't comment. Hubby has fixed the problem so it should be fine now. On the left is a place you can sign up if you want to be notified when we post a new article on either site in case you want that notification. Did you listen to the podcasts? I'd be interested to know what you think. We will get better with practice. LOL Thank you so very much for your comments. I'm glad you liked the one about the ball of string. :)

You'll at least have to visit Glacier before the one in Spokane graduates! It really is an awesome place. So much DRIER than this part of Oregon...but amazing...growing up with it, it was ordinary. But it isn't, is it?! Have a safe and enjoyable trip to Spokane. My middle daughter considered Gonzaga as a freshman last year...

Sheila -- I noticed your comment on Sarah's article, and thought I would let you know that yes, there are plenty of small presses in Portland. One good way to find out who they are is to go to the downtown Powell's; they have a whole section of local independent publishers. Small press publishing is unlikely to make you much money, or any at all, but it's a good way to get started ... and frankly, with advances for most new authors being very small even from major houses, small press is a good way to get started, due to the chance for you to make personal contact, and have a greater degree of involvement in the editing and printing processes.
Another way to become familiar with or in the swing of Portland's small press scene is to start going to readings. There are plenty of them, and many are given by locally-published authors.
